i flew into anchorage today and went looking for a moose in all this.  after 1
hour of driving and 2 hours of hiking this local showed me one just near the
airport - back where i started my day, all those hours ago.  if i'd only known.

went out testing the lens i rented for snowmass today and found some juniors
racing at my local drag strip.  these little machines ripped and it looked like a lot
of fun.  managed to capture this absolute classic image of drag racing just
before i left.

went down the coast to shoot some surfing with glenn but the weather in the
morning was absolutely horrible for photography - windy, raining, cold, and
not much in the way of surf.  glenn tried to squeeze into the green-room before
the rain got too much for me and i gave up.  the sun pocked thru just before we
left so i sent him out on the rocks under the gaze of the birds to get some nice
colourful shots. it was so good this little one got to close to the edge and forgot
about the waves coming in over the rocks.

i promised glennro this one - how not to catch a wave.  sorry mate but you're
a million times better surfer than me and these rare moments are gold. he told
me it was the fault of the board... seems to be the same problems as my golf
clubs.

went to the south coast yesterday with a bunch of tree huggers to chase the
reported HUGE swell that was coming.  i woke way too early in the morning to
this - it was going to be a good day.  we checked out a few spots and it was
big, and heavy.  i wanted to get amongst the big stuff but the boys chickened
out and found this nice sandy beach with some smaller waves.  here they fight
for the scraps that i left behind.  glennro thought that he'd see what it looked like
on top of the falls and chadd thought he'd check out how close he could get to
the break - just a little further to the edge and he'd would have been on the
nightly news.  it was a golden day deserving of this golden moment.

the first annual aussie day slalom/4x race was held today with racing action
hotter than eating chili sauted in tiger balm and served with blair's death sauce.
after several rounds of racing and much cheating from one particular rider the
crown was taken by the rider with the initials db.  here's the action for you.... 1,
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
